Teacher Talk -- $10.00: Malina Miller -- Good teachers watch for books on how to teach more effectively. The compiler was no exception. While she found many helpful secular and religious texts on teaching, something was missing. She wished for more books that spoke to situations unique to Christian teachers of church-operated schools.
The Seven Laws of Teaching -- $11.00: John Milton Gregory -- This little book does not claim to set forth the whole science of education, nor even the whole art of teaching. But if it has succeeded in grouping around the seven factors, so that they can be seen in their natural order and relations and can be methodically learned and used, it has fulfilled the desire of the author.
Preschool Activity Series -- $8.80: This four-book series provides practice for three- and four-year-olds in motor skills such as hand-eye coordination and visual comparison. As preschoolers work through the books, they learn basic numbers and colors. This series helps preschoolers build a foundation for doing schoolwork. Do not confuse this with the Preschool ABC Series listed further down on this page!
Principles of Teaching -- $6.95: Merle Ruth -- This workbook contains 10 chapters on aspects of teaching from a Christian viewpoint, each followed by study questions. Understanding the learning process, techniques of teaching, class-time procedure, problems encountered, and mistakes made in teaching are some of the things discussed in this helpful book.
God Is Good Series -- $21.00: This series is designed to give constructive reading practice to pupils using the Bible Nurture and Reading Series.
Tips for Teachers -- $3.00: This compilation of ideas, suggestions, warnings, thoughts, opinions, successes, and failures comes from 86 people who have had that precious ingredient of teaching: experience.
Creative Touch 2000 -- $10.50: Faythelma Bechtel & Sonya Bechtel Miller -- A compilation of dozens of fresh ideas for classroom bulletin boards for new and experienced teachers everywhere.
Bulletin Board Sketches -- $5.00: compiled by Rachel L. Weaver -- This book is filled with ideas for bulletin boards.
The History of Christian Education -- $4.75: Lester E. Showalter -- This book traces Mennonite involvement in education from the time of the Reformation to the Conservative Mennonite movement of today.
Pointers for Sunday School Teachers -- $4.00: Lester E. Showalter -- Help for new teachers and for experienced teachers who are eager to be more effective.
Preparing Children for School and Life -- $5.50: Subjects treated are: diligence, obedience, facing responsibility, a healthy independence, a well-disciplined child, responsible decision-making, well-adjusted social behavior, proper economic values, a Scriptural attitude toward oneself, facing life properly, the influence of the church on the child, and more.
The Master Teacher -- $5.00: Ruth O. Hobbs -- The author compiles the teaching methods and traits of the Master Teacher, the Lord Jesus, and presents them as examples for teachers today to follow.
