    Review Before Selling?

By Mark Roth on July 13, 2009 at 6:28 pm

I got to wondering: Do people assume we review each book before we decide to carry it?

Generally, we do not. Of course, a significant percentage of what sell comes from three trusted publishers:

Anyway, on Saturday I received a phone call from an out-of-state friend of many years. He was concerned that I sell a certain book. In the course of our conversation, he mentioned in passing another book we sell (which he seemed not to realize we have on our site).

On the basis of his concerns and our respect for him, I decided to disable sales of those two books until we make the opportunity and the time to review them ourselves.

The books? I Will Build My Church and Life Is for Living — neither from any of the above publishers.

Hopefully we can read them before too long!

    Free Christian Light Curriculum

By Mark Roth on July 10, 2009 at 11:03 am

    That’s right — free.

My youngest is out of grade school, so I no longer need these materials!

All Christian Light materials are Sunrise Edition unless noted. Most are in good condition – a little worn after four children! I’ll be glad to give these away if you will pay the shipping price.

Come see what she’s giving away!

Returning to God and the Church

By Mark Roth on July 9, 2009 at 3:17 pm

Returning to God and the Church

Finding our way back to God and the church is a difficult road. Sin separates us from God and in serious cases may bring church discipline. We may find ourselves confused or bitter about our experience, and distant from the brotherhood. We may feel hurt, betrayed, or misunderstood by the people around us.

Amid all these feelings, we long for a restored relationship. We wish we could return again and be part of the fellowship. But we wonder:

    * Do people really care about me?
    * Will they forgive me and accept me again?
    * Is it possible for me to return to God and the church?

Our God is a loving God. He forgives sinners who come to Christ and confess their sins. The church also forgives and restores the penitent sinner. Regardless of the seriousness of our sin, there is healing and restoration. There is a way back to God and the church. The journey may seem long and lonely. It is often difficult and frustrating, but it is well worth the effort!

25 pages. Christian Light Publications. Luke Bennetch.
