His children, his neighbors, and some of his closest friends sanctioned the publication of this story.<\/p>\n<p>My motive for writing this bibliographical narrative is threefold: to portray early Mennonite life, to show what part a layman can have in the progress and upbuilding of the church, and to preserve for my own children and others of this generation the story of the heroic struggles of the fathers of the past generation in providing for us today the institutions which at present are so much a part of the life of the church. <\/p>\n<p>261 pages.
