No authority figure has the right (authority) to “lord it over” those for whom he is responsible. Every authority figure is responsible to someone else, and ultimately to God.<\/p>\n Parents are responsible to instill respect for authority in their children. “Honor thy father and mother” is the beginning. Little children cannot read that command, much less obey it. So parents are to see that it happens. Children should never be allowed to make fun of or express disrespect for authority figures.<\/p>\n A life of submission is a must. No one can properly exercise authority who has not learned to submit to his own authorities.
